Richard’s Reflections
Community Minded
The Rawlins National Bank is a community bank. That's why we always try to
approach things from a community-minded point of view. When something is in
the best interest of the communities in Carbon County, it's good for us as
well. Whenever there is a project to make our communities a better place to
live, you will always find our local businesses right there doing all they can
to help. That includes The Rawlins National Bank. From serving a free BBQ at
the Carbon County Fair to sponsoring the kids and their teams, we are always
there. Yes, it is harder these days for most businesses to give as generously
as they do in the best of times. But every little bit helps everyone in our
communities.
The Rawlins National Bank is proud that we have been able to help, through
donations or sponsorship, some of the following organizations: Platte Valley
Community Center, Little Snake River Community Center, Rawlins Main Street,
Grand Encampment Poet Gathering, St. Vincent DePaul, United Way, Boys and
Girls Club, Rawlins Gladiators Boxing Club, all Project Graduations, King
Coal Days, USA Swimming Club, Wyoming Stock Growers Association, Friends of
the Old Pen, Hanna-Elk Mountain High School, Little Snake River Rodeo, Carbon
County Steer and Heifer Show, County Senior Center services and many more.
This doesn't take into account the number of individuals that come in asking
for help to attend a camp, leadership conference, pageant, etc.
Please take a moment to ask about RNB Bucks for the holiday season. This is
an exclusive RNB program we created to help keep money spent for the holidays
within our communities. We are very happy that this has been a successful
program helping local county merchants for the past 18 years.
All of us at The Rawlins National Bank want you to know that we are
community-minded, just like you. Our donation budget proves it. We wish
you all a great holiday season and Happy and Prosperous New Year!

RNB History
THEN...

Take yourself back to the 1890's, to a time when Rawlins and
Carbon County were young, robust and expanding. Newspaper and
promotional accounts a century ago proclaimed Rawlins as "the
distributing point for a vast outlying country extending 100-150
miles in various directions, and the amount of merchandise that
leaves this city daily is surprisingly enormous. The area sheep
industry has made hundreds wealthy.
"Population in 1898 is about 2,800 and business men of this
city and locality are wide awake to the possibility of its
becoming the metropolis of Wyoming." The future "metropolis of
Wyoming" needed sound financial institutions. Businessmen who
organized The Rawlins State Bank -- a year later to become The
Rawlins National Bank -- filled the void. And, in its 100+year
history, The Rawlins National Bank has been at the forefront of
this community and county. It elected the first woman to a bank
as a bank Director and had one of the nation's youngest bank
presidents.
Today it has grown to an institution with 4 locations
throughout Carbon County. And it looks forward to the next 100
years. "Our board of directors are proud to have provided more than
100 years of banking in Rawlins as an independent bank,"
President Richard Chenoweth said. "Our goal has not changed.
The Rawlins National Bank's mission is to provide Carbon County
with quality financial products and services designed to make
banking as convenient and friendly as possible."
